Meet the new crew!

We are proud to welcome seven fabulous new Sexuality Educators to our team! Here’s a little more about them.

Name: Sarah Clausen

Why I’m interested in young people & sexual health: I love the creative potential young people are fearless in expressing. Also, I feel sexual health education is too often forgotten, and can really set the stage for life-long success if NOT forgotten!

What else you should know about me: I am very dedicated to empowering our youth to be as healthy as possible!

Name: Shay Sylvester

Why I’m interested in young people & sexual health: Sexual health is so important! The lack of information and resources available to me as a young person motivated me to learn more about it and make that information accessible to the next generation.

What else you should know about me: I volunteer as a birth doula for young mothers and women with HIV.

Name: Sierra Howard

Why I’m interested in young people & sexual health: I love seeing the potential in young people, and they can never have too many caring adults in their lives!

What else you should know about me: I love physical activity, and every now and then I won’t eat meat for a month.

Name: Miamon Queeglay

Why I’m interested in young people & sexual health: I think it’s important to advocate for youth because adolescents have an impact on the health of society.

What else you should know about me: I love to laugh and fill the room with positive energy!

Name: Josh Tomashek

Why I’m interested in young people & sexual health: I’m excited to work with young people about reproductive health and the unique challenges they face.

What else you should know about me: I’m a big brother to two high-school aged sisters and I speak Spanish fluently.

Name: Chelle Vogel

Why I’m interested in young people & sexual health: Kids needs adults who understand, respect, and are interested in who they are now and who they want to become.

What else you should know about me: People tell me that they appreciate me as a listener and someone who is open-minded and nonjudgmental.

Name: Hannah Mikhelson

Why I’m interested in young people & sexual health: Young people are their own kind of human. They have the power to take care of themselves, but often need extra guidance and support in doing so, especially in terms of sexual health. I love to help bridge gaps in their ability to take care of themselves because they are capable of so much more than society gives them credit for.

What else you should know about me: I was born in Belarus and I’ve been to 15 different educational/school establishments since pre-school.

Meet the Author: Brooke Stelzer is the Director of Sexuality Education and has been on staff since 2004. A fun fact about Brooke? She loves your dog.
