It’s hard to believe that the Annex Teen Clinic will be 45 years old in a few weeks. It’s even harder to believe I’ve been lucky enough to lead this incredible organization for 23 years. One of the benefits of being engaged with an organization that long is the ability to witness the progress we’ve made towards achieving our mission. Given the incredible declines in unintended pregnancy rates among the young people we serve, we are clearly doing something right.

One of the other benefits of working at the Annex Teen Clinic since 1993 is how many incredible people I’ve had the pleasure to work with. So many people have contributed so much to building this incredible resource for young people I wish there was a way to honor each and every one of you. The story of the Annex Teen Clinic is a story of a community working together to make sure young people have the support and resources available to make healthy, responsible decisions about their sexual health.

So we should celebrate all these years of dedication and commitment to the health of young people. On Saturday, October 1st, we will be hosting our annual benefit at Illusion Theater. We aren’t charging admission- we want to see as many of you as possible! This will be a great opportunity for all of the friends of the Annex Teen Clinic to come together and celebrate 45 years of hard work and dedication to supporting young people. There will be some wonderful moments of reflection on the challenges and joys of adolescence. I hope you’ll help us spread the word. I also hope the evening will provide an opportunity to reacquaint old friends with new and strengthen and broaden the Annex community of support for the years ahead. Looking forward to seeing you there!
