What’s it like to visit?

We know that going to the doctor for sexual health services can feel scary sometimes, and we want your visit to be as comfortable as possible. Ask us all the questions you’d like, and please feel free to bring a friend, family member or partner along for support.

What to expect your first time at the Annex …

You’ll check in with the receptionist and complete a few pieces of intake paperwork. If you need help figuring out how to pay for your visit you’ll also meet with someone in our finance office.

After that, you will talk to a nurse in a private room about your health. The nurse will answer any questions you have and give you any info you need.

Depending on what you need at your visit, you might also:

  • Have your blood pressure, height and weight measured
  • Give a urine (pee) sample for chlamydia and gonorrhea screenings
  • Have your finger poked for HIV and syphilis testing
  • Get medications or birth control, or have a prescription sent to your pharmacy

Would you like to ask a question or set up an appointment? Please be in touch.
