Meet Linda

Sexuality Educator and Parent Educator
Welcome to the Annex! I’m Linda Madson, and I’ve just finished my second school year as a Sexuality and Parent Educator. My favorite parts of this incredible job are facilitating sex ed with young people, who never fail to amaze me with their enthusiasm and wisdom, and encouraging parents in their role as the primary sexuality educators of their kids. It is my belief that talking honestly about sex in families—from day one—is the key to changing the world for the better. I’m from Rochester, MN and graduated from the University of MN Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Music degree. For many years, I helped college students navigate their own journeys as an Academic Adviser but always knew that my own journey needed to center around sexual health, a long-time passion. Other passions include being with my partner and three children (ages 21, 17, and 13), being active AND lazy outside, being on and in water, being at outdoor music festivals, and being all over the world as much as possible.

The Annex recognizes the need for parents and youth to understand each other’s perspectives around relationships and sexual… Read more

Parents, we’ve got your back!

Parents are the primary sexuality educators for their children…it’s true! As parents, we often hope our kids are getting accurate sexual health information at school, or in formal settings from other adults. But what they hear and see from their families creates the deepest impressions and can impact their sexual attitudes for a lifetime. At… Read more
